The Untold Story
They met when they were in third grade but both don't reckon a single moment that they talked to each other. They remained classmates until the 6th grade and went to different schools in high school. They never saw each other again until college.
During the second semester of their first year in college, the bride transferred to the same university where the groom was studying and it was then when the groom saw her once again. It was a crush at first sight for him but not for her. He managed to get her number thru common friends and they started texting each other.
During the fateful Pacquiao-Morales boxing match in March 2005, the two made a bet on who will win the fight and the bride rooted for Pacquiao because she was so certain that he will win the fight. The universe conspired in favor of the groom, Morales won the match, the bride lost the bet and they ended up on their first friendly date (the bride almost backed out at the last minute!). That was the start of a good friendship. He later on tried to pursue her but was initially turned down and she insisted that they remain friends.
They remained good friends and the groom proved that persistence mixed with a little bit of charm indeed pays off when they eventually became a couple in December 2006.
They both decided to get married civilly in Singapore in 2011 prior to the groom still managing to surprise the bride with an unexpected proposal. Read the proposal story here.
